Manitoulin Colouring Book - Whytes - Publications

Add colour to your Canada 150 celebrations with the Manitoulin Colouring Book!

We are pleased to announce that our latest publication is now available in stores across Manitoulin Island!

The “Manitoulin Colouring Book” was a concept developed by Jack and Dylon Whyte over a decade ago. They were exploring the idea of marketing the Island’s natural and experiential assets using an approach that was different from any other promotional product at the time. Although it wasn’t published and printed until several years later, its proof of concept was established in 2016 when its completion was backed by over 35 island businesses.

With that support came a flow of positive feedback and suggestions from sponsors, including the idea of custom colouring pages for those who wanted to distinguish themselves.

Taking the book’s original concept and incorporating new elements like custom colouring pages has allowed a simple publication to evolve into so much more. In a way, we have created a flagship for the region by refining the promotion of it and focusing on the experiences and services it has to offer. Most importantly, we’ve managed to present advertising in a form that audiences are excited about and actually want to engage with.

Feedback from our customers was also crucial in helping us improve our work, as the end-user is the only one who can truly tell us if we are getting things right since the product has been created for them. For example, we were excited to receive criticism on how well (or not) the paper we chose for last year’s book worked with different choices of media, such as markers. Our customer’s feedback provided valuable insight and understanding in to how our product was performing. Once we were aware, we made it a priority to resource heavier materials for the next issue.

We also increased the number of pages in this year’s book from 24 to 36, as we wanted to create a more dynamic range of perspective of Manitoulin.

Now that the Manitoulin Colouring Books is complete, we invite you to share your feedback and tell us how we’ve done! You can order a copy online in our web store, or stop by one of the following retailers and pick one up!

Happy Colouring! 🙂
